At this stage of his short career as a researcher, Dr. Jakub Radoszewski is already a leader on a major subject in Computer Science. It goes without saying that the notion of repeats is central to researches in scientific domains like mathematics, physics, biology, but also in some social sciences. The concept plays a specially important role in the analysis of textual documents, domain initiated more than a century ago by the seminal work of Axel Thue and that is the main research area of the laureate. The core element of his research, mostly in stringology, concerns the analysis of redundancies in texts, under several concepts like repeats or coverings, discovering them and locating them. This requires competences on the combinatorial aspects of the problems, on the design of algorithmic solutions, and on their analysis. He has all these skills and is able to develop solutions ranging from pure heuristics techniques to exact combinatorial methods. From this point of view he outperforms most of his peers. Dr. Jakub Radoszewski has an excellent publication record making him a rising star in the community of text algorithms and stringology.
